Meeting with representant from Google about Analytics

This is my own meeting notes.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics ( http://www.google.com/analytics/) is a tool which shows how your website feels. Direct traffic in Google Analytics means that Google does not really know how a user has found the website. It can often be through typing a web-address directly in a web browser but not necessarily. It’s possible to customize information in Google analytics. For example, you can add your own local search engines and change the names of pages. If you are investing in some campaign, it’s possible to measure how well money is invested by using Google Analytics to view results. By using Google Campaign URL Builder you can build a unique URL which is possible to use in your internet campaign (like newsletters, banners etc.) to be able to measure results of those campaigns.Conversion Rate is total unique visitors (!) divided by how many customers who bought a product. When you are looking at your conversion rate it’s important to understand your visitors.Normal Bounce Rate is 15-35% but it’s depends on type of your website. You can learn more about Google Analytics at Conversion University.

Google Trends
Google Trends ( http://www.google.com/trends) is tool which can shows how often a particular search-term is entered relative to the total search-volume across various regions of the world, and in various languages. It’s good tool to understand how customer thinks. For example it’s possible to find out best web marketing name for your product.
